Shirley Ann Galbraith Hall, affectionately known as Mum, Grandma Shirley and Aunt Shirley, passed peacefully away on September 21, 2025, at the age of 90 years in Vista, California. She married LaVern Miles Hall in 1953, and never remarried following their divorce. She is survived by her children: Vernita Mason, Bruce Hall, Blaine Hall, and Roxanne Morganti; her grandchildren: Tegan Lewis, Jairlyn Mason, Stuart Mason, Shalean Hall, and Kyle Yocina; and her great grandchildren: Sage Schweitzer, Jacoby Phillips, Jace Phillips, Signy Phillips, Logan Hall, Rylie Hall, Tessa Lewis, Talia Lewis, and Ibn Mason-Kampe; her sisters, Patricia Clewett and Rita Marin, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents, Paul and Ruth Galbraith, her son-in-law artist John Mason, her great-grandson Miles Hall, and her grandson Ryan Hall. Shirley lived a life of adventure. She was a creative spirit, an unpublished poet, and a lyricist. She worked at Talon and Viscose in Meadville, PA, and at McDonnell Douglas in Los Angeles, CA, where she enjoyed the challenges of her technical expertise. She had a booth at swap meets and ran a cotton candy and corn dog concession at Southern California carnivals, which satisfied her entrepreneurial spirit. She also studied cosmetology and became a licensed beautician, enjoying a career as a hairdresser in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She loved all animals, especially her two adopted stray dogs. A celebration of life will be held in Meadville in June, 2026. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to ASPCA.
