Steve Mares, 79, of Fallbrook, California died Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Escondido, California from complications of diabetes.

Mr. Mares was born on April 17, 1939 in Billings, Montana to Rev. Timothy Mares and Eloysa Mares. They moved to Colorado where he grew up.

He enlisted in he Army and was in the 82nd airborne after he was discharged with honors. He moved to California where he worked as an auto repairman. He started his own business "Mares Body Shop".

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eloysa and Timothy Mares, 6 brothers, Timothy, Floyd, Pete, Dan, Joe, and Jacob.

Steve is survived by his wife Gloria who he married in 1968, with this union they had 1 son, Steve Timothy and 1 daughter, Kecia Kay. He also is survived by 3 brothers Sie, John, and Clyde, 4 sisters, Dorothy, Violet, Clara, and Selina, 3 grandchildren, Debralee, Gabriel, and Victoria, 4 great-grandchildren, Noah, Elijah, Richard and Judylee, and many nieces, and nephews, family, relatives, and friends.

Steve enjoyed life and entertaining lots of friends at his famous BBQ's on 4th of July.

He will be dearly missed.
