Steven Cyril Ackroyd

Steven Cyril Ackroyd was born on September 9, 1963, in Minneapolis, MN. He left us to be with God on June 19, 2026, in San Marcos, CA. He was deeply cherished by his parents, Russell and Sharon Ackroyd.

Steven’s legacy includes his courageous seven-year journey with glioblastoma. He endured many procedures and made meaningful contributions to clinical trials, helping others affected by the disease. Throughout it all, he continued to share his sense of humor and his love of telling stories about his life and family.

His dedication to his 40-year career in landscaping was admired by all. He built strong relationships with coworkers and customers and always kept their best interests at heart.

He loved nature, especially the ocean, aviation, traveling, and being with family and friends. He taught us all so much about living life to the fullest.  

He was a devoted partner to Xiaoyan Sheng and was so grateful to her for all the many ways she devoted her life and knowledge to help him.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Xiaoyan, his mother, Sharon, brother, Jeff Ackroyd, sisters, Lori Ackroyd, Linda Wilson and spouse, Kit, Betsy Kuchta and spouse, Stacy, and Carrie Purgett and spouse, Charles. Also, his nieces and nephews and extended families.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell, grandparents, Helen Learn, and Cyril Ackroyd.

The celebration of life will be held at Eternal Hills, Oceanside, CA.

Visitation on June 28th from 4-8 pm.
