

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Ted passed away suddenly on May 16th, 2011. He was 81 years of age. He moved with his family from Pennsylvania to Pasadena, California, in 1945. Ted attended Wilson Jr. High and Pasadena City College. His first job was with Challenge Cream and Butter Association in Los Angeles, where he rose to the position of Sales Manager. He married Kristin Johannesen in 1956, and they moved to Pomona, CA., and then to Carlsbad in 1974, where they franchised a new Seven Eleven Store on Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad, which opened on Memorial Day in 1974. Ted retired after 30 years, and his son, Richard became the owner.
He is survived by his wife, Kristin, sons; Michael (Kathe), Richard (Susan), William (Kathy), daughters; Terry Riley (Tim), Kristy Sing (Rick), 15 grandchildren, and a great grandson, Reece; brother, James, sisters, Joan Johnson, and Helen McKay, and numerous family members, and friends.
Services will be on May 25th at 1:00 pm at Eternal Hills, Oceanside, CA, with internment to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tri City Medical Center Foundation, attn: Pulmonary Rehab, 4002 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA, 92054.
Arrangements are under the direction of Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Mortuary, and Crematory, Oceanside, California.
