Born in Providence, R.I. to Alessandro and Angela Prignano, he moved to California after serving in the U. S. Army.
A skilled machinist with a degree in Industrial Arts, Barney worked for Hughes Aircraft as a department manager continuing as a consultant for the company after his retirement.
Barney is survived by his beloved wife Madeline of 68 years and his younger sister, Enis Gosselin of Rhode Island. He was the proud and loving father of four daughters, Lorraine Martin (Richard), Jane Missett (James), Barbara Tammen (Paul) and Joanne Ruch (Duane). Barney also leaves behind grandchildren Kristal, Rachel, Nicolas, Ryan, Rebecca, Marisa and great-granddaughter Hannah.
Barney loved taking long walks in the neighborhood and made many friends along the way with his infectious enthusiasm for conversation. His kind and generous heart will be greatly missed.
