Vicente Villarreal

Vicente Villarreal, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 6, 2026, at the age of 86—just one day after celebrating his birthday surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on April 5, 1940, Vicente lived a life defined by dedication, hard work, and deep love for those around him. He was the middle child of five siblings and carried with him a strong sense of family throughout his life.

Vicente came to the United States in 1962 as part of the Bracero Program, beginning a journey that would shape the legacy he leaves behind. He built a long and meaningful career as an arboriculturist at Clausen Nursery, where his passion for plants and talent for propagation were evident to all who knew him.

On November 26, 1964, Vicente married the love of his life, Elva Villarreal. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, sharing over six decades of love and partnership.

Vicente was a devoted father to his children: Hector Manuel Villarreal, Luis Noel Villarreal, Yesenia Acevedo, Cindy Villarreal, and Daniela Anderson. He was also a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 10 great-grandchildren.

He lived in Carlsbad, California for 27 years before making his home in Vista, California, where he spent the remaining 26 years of his life. Vicente was known for his easy smile, his love of long walks, and his quiet moments enjoying a cigarette. He found joy in deep sea fishing, caring for plants, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Vicente’s life was one of resilience, love, and simple pleasures. His warmth, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A viewing will be held on April 21, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, CA 92054.

A funeral Mass will be held on April 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, 3821 Adams Street, Carlsbad, CA 92008.

Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
