Chief Petty Officer Hospital Corpsman (AW) (Retired) Virgilio “Gil” Gregorio Vicente, 64, died peacefully at Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, CA on June 5, 2020. A veteran of the United States Navy, he served for 24 years as a radiologic technologist.

Chief Vicente was born on November 5, 1955 in La Loma, Quezon City, Philippines, to Antonio and Conchita Vicente. In 1972, he was the Corps Commander in the Philippine Military Training (PMT) at Eulogio Rodriguez High School. In 1979, he joined the armed forces and was assigned to the US Naval Base in San Diego, CA. Upon retirement from the Navy in 2003, he continued to work as a civilian employee at Tri-City Hospital in Oceanside, CA in the radiology department.

Gil was a man with a big heart and great sense of humor. He was a patient and loving father. Gil married his wife, Evangeline “Babes” Magtoto Vicente in Caloocan City, Philippines, in 1981.

He is survived by his wife; his three children, Constance Yves Vicente Alamares (Archibald), Alastaire Sean Vicente, Svetlanna Joan Vicente; his two grandchildren, Dominic Vicente Alamares, Nathaniel Vicente Alamares; and a sister, Nenita Vicente Aguado of Quezon City, Philippines.
