Oh Willie!  What a lot of fun we had working together at Otay Mesa.  I remember when I was a new Inspector just back from the academy in 1989.  We were in the lot one day and Willie got a call from his wife, frantic that a snake had gotten in the house.  I asked him what he was going to do and he said he was going to wait until she figured out a way to get that snake out of the house, then he would go home!

Even though I haven't seen you since you retired, you will be sorely missed, my friend!  God Speed!

Willie we will all miss you. I remember the 1st time a met you and Rashid at Otay Mesa. I had just back back from FLETC. It made me smile and laugh. Thanks.

I would like to extend my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the Scull Family. Willie and I had a unique connection. Willie served with my father in the United States Marine Corps, and I served with him in the United States Customs Service. Willie and I began working together as Customs Inspectors in 1987. As a young man beginning my career, Willie was a great role model. I give thanks to him for his sacrifices and for enduring the challenges through the years, so I can be where I am today. Willie was a kind hearted man and true professional. I will always have fond memories of Willie, and I will always remember his distinct voice and calm demeanor.

I met Willie in 1997 when I arrived at Cargo in OTM..  Right from the beginning I found Willie to be a kind soul, very forgiving and patient soul as well.  I will truly miss Willie and the opportunity to say goodbye my friend.  God Blees your Soul and your family, amen.  His spirit will live on.

     I will never forget the discussions, debates, stories and the pleasure of working with you and getting to know you.  I always get a kick when I recall you saying "Cinq, you're an eccentric guy! As a Marine, I crossed paths with MstGySgt Scull and then in later years I crossed paths with Senior Inspector Scull. Both times I respected his professionalism and he always showed respect and concern for those about him. God bless him and his family. The good news is that I know God will assign him to be one of his right hand people to help sort and give direction to those in route to his new post.

Willie Scull was one of those rare co-workers in Customs who was interesting to talk to about work matters and matters in general, in addition to being an all-around good guy who you were always happy to run into.  I'll carry goog memories of him for the rest of my days.  My condolences to his family.

I worked with Willie at Otay Mesa and he's always been a part of my fonder memories of those years. I'll never forget the weekend breakfasts we had in those days which always seemed to revolve around him. He made sure every one had a chance to "get some grub." I remember his voice and sense of humor like it was yesterday. He was a fine human being and left an impression on many. God speed, Willie.

As a young Cutoms Inspector, I had the extreme privilege of working with such a thoughtful and kind person, treating EVERYONE with the utmost respect.  I was so impressed by how dedicated he was in his professional second career.    More impressive though was the fact that he had served his country proudly for many years with the Marines.  To a young and impressionable inspector he was a sight to behold, larger than life and so dedicated to his family.  Willie spoke of all of you often and loved all of you very much.  Willie will be terribly missed by his friends at the "ROW"! Rest in peace my friend.

My condolences to Willie's family, may you find God's comfort during this time of sorrow.  Also, my condolences to Willie's friends—he had many—and we too are filled with sorrow.  I had the pleasure of working with Willie at the San Ysidro Port Of Entry and the Otay Mesa Cargo facility.  Willie was an easy going person who was easy to talk with and had a personality that people gravitated toward.  He and I had many, many conversations, and I always looked forward to them.  I considered him my friend, and although I will miss him, I can savor the memories I have of him.

I remember Willie from 1991 when I started with Customs Canine. I enjoyed working with him and truly appreciated his sense of purpose and dedication to duty. He was always there to provide back up on the line and could be counted on to back you up when things got rough. He will be missed!

I am so deeply sad to hear of Willie's passing. My heart felt condolences go out to his family and closest friends. I will always remember Willie for his deep voice..how he balanced his career with such compassion, professionalism, and humor. He made my early career a little easier with such traits. We all should remember Willie for those qualities in his person and we should all carry ourselve's in the same manner Willie did. I will miss you sincerely my friend!

Mr. Scull's dignity & integrity would have been acknowledged in any field he might have chosen for himself.  The fact that he chose to serve his country for all of his adult life reflects on the generosity of his spirit and his patriotism, and for that we are all better. When I began working as a dog handler at San Ysidro, I was immediately drawn to Willie. He was a true friend. He was one of the good ones and will be dearly missed.

So sorry to hear about Willie.  He was a tremendous help to me when I began my career with U.S. Customs.  I to this day still think about his laugh and how positive he always was.  He'll be missed a great deal.

My deepest condolences. I had a great time working with Willie at cargo, we were both coordinators in the same cubicle. I loved hearing his Marine Corp stories. He had the greatest voice. I can still hear him answering the phone in his low deep voice, "Customs......Scull......."  He had the greatest laugh. The days passed quickly because he was great to be around.

When I first started with the U.S. Customs Service, I remember Willie telling me..."Ted; I don't know and I don't want to know".  I will never forget the quote.  I will truly miss Willie.

Willie and I worked on the same team in the late 80's. He was a proud retired Marine, a proud U.S. Customs Inspector and a great friend. The service is a better outfit by having him the short time we did. He is missed.

As a rookie officer assigned to the San Ysidro Port of Entry, the world's busiest border, we worked sixteen hour days with only a few hours of sleep day in and day out.  Our nerves were frail and our stress level high. All except Willie Scull, Willie was always cool and collected. His uniform always pressed and shoes impeccably shined. He walked around with confidence and always had a story to tell us rookies. He made our day easier and was always willing to share his knowledge. He will be missed by us “Rookies.” Those of us that had the privilege to work with him will always remember him fondly.

Willie and I went through FLETC together in 1988 and we worked the southern border for many years together.  He always made me laugh and brightened up the day.  He was a great guy and made an lasting impression on all he worked with.  He will be missed by all that knew him.

I am so sorry for everyone's loss. I really enjoyed working with Willie Scull. He had a great work ethic, wonderful love for his family, was a true patriot and always interesting to talk to. I was lucky to have known him.

I worked with Wilie for several years at San Ysidro. He was truely a great guy and he will be missed. Wilie work directly under me and I never had a singlw complaint about him and that is rare on the Tijuana border with Mexico. He will be missed. Tom Hardin

Willie Scull was a true professional and a role model.  I started working with U.S. Customs in 1991 and Willie was one of the first Senior Inspectors that I had the opportunity to work with.  He was an inspiration for me.  He was a good person, cared for his country, and made a difference every day.  He willingly shared of himself and treated everyone with respect as he kept our nation safe from those who sought to do us harm.  He will be missed.
