

Funeral services for Alice D. LaRue, age 69, of Ogdensburg, will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Rob Schirmer will officiate. Entombment will follow at Oswegatchie Mausoleum.
Alice passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose kind heart, warm smile, and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children, Raymond LaRue of Ogdensburg and Eleanor (Craig) Robledo of Ogdensburg; her stepchildren, Richard LaRue of Ogdensburg, Loretta Pond of Massachusetts, Brenda LaRue of Ogdensburg, Fern LaRue of Ogdensburg, and Bonnie Tickner of Rochester; her beloved mother, Eleanor Ibey of Ogdensburg; her sister, Barb (Lonnie) Thurston of Ogdensburg; and her treasured grandchildren, Alice Barrett, Shannon Barrett, and Seven Robledo, all of whom brought her endless pride and joy.
Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond G. LaRue, in 2010; her cherished daughter, Amy Barrett, in 2015; her father, Carl Ibey, in 1990; and her sisters, Joanna Goodman and Sally Ann Ibey.
Born in Ogdensburg, on February 2, 1957, Alice was the daughter of Carl and Eleanor (Meashaw) Ibey. She attended Ogdensburg Free Academy and later married the love of her life, Raymond G. LaRue, with whom she built a family centered on love and devotion.
Throughout her working years, Alice was employed at McDonald's before becoming a cashier at Walmart, where she remained until her retirement in 2020. She was known for her friendly personality and enjoyed visiting with customers and coworkers alike.
Alice found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved trying her luck at the casino, playing bingo with friends, baking delicious treats for her family, and making trips to Amish vegetable stands in search of fresh produce. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and love, and her family will forever hold close the memories they shared with her.
Alice will be remembered for her caring heart, her quiet strength, and the unconditional love she gave to her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories that will be cherished for generations.
