Andrew W. Mason

A Celebration of Life service for Andrew W. “Poppy” Mason Sr., age 72 of Brier Hill will be held on Wednesday (March 9, 2016) from 2:00-7:00pm at the Brier Hill Fire Hall. Entombment will be at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Surviving is his longtime companion Pauline Smith of Brier Hill; children Katie (Mason) Melanson & her husband Bill Pierce of Gouverneur, Rebecca (Mason) Mills & her husband Tim of Ogdensburg, Vickie (Mason) Dollinger & her husband Rick of Malone, Andrew Mason Jr. & his wife Ellen of Ogdensburg, Arthur Mason & his companion Lisa Newby of Brier Hill and Peggy (Mason) Hutton of Canton; four brothers Bruce Mason address unknown, George Mason & his wife Darlene of Hammond, Gary Mason of Schenectady, and Jerry Mason & his wife Lynn of Brier Hill; a sister Hattie Labombard & her husband Walter of Schenectady; 16 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 1 great-grandson and many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive.

Two brothers Robert & Clive Mason and a sister Pearl Mason predeceased him.

Andrew was born on Sept 28, 1943 in Potsdam NY, a son of the late Walter & Gayle (Campbell) Mason. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy for his education, and later began his long time relationship with the love of his life Pauline A. Smith.

During his career he worked 38 years for T & I Plumbing & Heating, and then later with his son Arthur. He enjoyed old car shows, watching wrestling, tinkering on motors, spending time with family, traveling, fishing and collecting old matchbox trucks.
