

Funeral services for Bethany M. Fisher, age 78 of Ogdensburg will be held at 11:00am on Friday July 22, 2016 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Redwood Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 12:00-2:00pm & 6:00-8:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. Fisher passed away at her home on Saturday evening (July 16, 2016) surrounded by her family.
Surviving are two sons Edwin (Jenny) Fisher & Vinnie Fisher both of Ogdensburg; four daughters Jeannine (Bernard) Measheaw of Ogdensburg, Renee (Danny) Fields of Lisbon, Jerry Lee (Robert) Johnson and Angela Wakefield of Ogdensburg; a sister Letitia LaFave of Ogdensburg; 14 grandchildren Jason, Bryan, Terry Lynn, Heather, Samantha, Tabatha, Robert Jr., Pauline, Paul, Christina, William, Mark, Nicholas & Eric; a sister-in-law Norma Catlin of Ogdensburg and several nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was predeceased by a son William "Willie" Willard; two brothers Robert & Frannie Catlin; a brother-in-law Tim LaFave ; grandson Jenson Measheaw;; great-grandson Landen Lawrence Measheaw and a son-in-law Allan Recore.
Bethany was born on May 19, 1938 in Ogdensburg NY, a daughter of the late Vincent Sr. & Marie (Downey) Catlin. She graduated High School and married Jerry Fisher which later ended in divorce. During her career she worked as a waitress at the greasy spoon, a custodian at Kennedy School, a packer at Diamond National, a cook at the United Helpers ICF # 3, a supervisor at social services and a materials management clerk at A Barton Hepburn Hospital until her retirement.
She enjoyed bingo, knitting, gardening, canning, cooking, fishing, sewing clothing for children, giving family haircuts, making candy, traveling to Hawaii, her pet cats and dog and spending time with her family.
