

Beverly A. Lawton, age 93, formerly of Ogdensburg, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, with calling hours from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM the same day.
Beverly is survived by her children, Stephen Lawton and Deborah (Mahlon) Bouchey of Ogdensburg; two brothers, William Gagnon of Zephyr Hills, FL, and Richard Gagnon of Richmond, ME; and six grandchildren: Heather Bouchey of Montpelier, VT, Lisa Bouchey of Ogdensburg, Jeri (Dustin) Haig of Deland, FL, Bobbi Lawton of Orlando, FL, Mindy Lawton of Deland, FL, and Joshua Bouchey, of Ogdensburg. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Beverly was predeceased by three sisters, June Ackerman, Mary Hutchinson, and Betty Carr; two infant brothers, Robert and Albert Gagnon; a special cousin, Wayne Izzo; and a granddaughter, Jenn Bouchey. Bev was very close with her maternal grandparents and great-aunts, who also predeceased her.
Born on March 29, 1931, in Ogdensburg, Beverly was the daughter of the late Orrie and Elsie (Bryan) Gagnon. She attended local schools and married Ralph Lawton in 1951, though the marriage later ended. Beverly worked at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital for a time before joining Acco Brands in the late 1960s, where she dedicated 30 years as a machine operator and was union steward.
A devoted member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Beverly also attended the 1st Baptist Church and was actively involved with the American Legion, VFW, and Moose Club Ladies Auxiliary. She loved Elvis, knitting and canvas needlework, reading, and spending time babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always the life of any party, a spitfire loved by all.
