Funeral services for Charlotte L. Sears, age 90 of the Moreland Road Ogdensburg, will be held at Saturday, September 3rd at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Entombment will follow the service at Foxwood Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. Sears passed away on Wednesday, August 24th 2016 at the Green Valley Hospital in Arizona. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving is her son Charles Sears & his wife Jenny of Idaho; two daughters Cheryl Barr & her husband Joseph “Gus” of Ogdensburg and Carla Howard of Sahuarita, AZ; eight grandchildren Thomas Barr, Barbara Boliver, Brad Barr, Stephanie Miller, Marina Scott, Giancarlo Rodriguez, Nicole Rodriguez and Fallon Sears; along with thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews. Two sisters Vernelle Bush and Barbara Diero preceded her in death.
Charlotte was born on November 19, 1925 in Hastings, NE; a daughter of the late Leon & Mareen (Adams) Cisco. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1943, and later married Charles E. Sears on May 2, 1945 in Salina, KS. They moved to Ogdensburg after World War II, and in 1955 moved to the Moreland Road. Charlotte worked a short time for the Ogdensburg Journal in the classified department, and was a devoted homemaker and also assisted her husband on their farm while raising her family. Charlotte and her husband Chuck enjoyed many years as active members of the Ogdensburg Elks Lodge. She loved to dance and travel making many trips to the West coast visiting family. She obtained the nick name of "Happy Hour Queen" due to her love of socializing with family and friends.
