Deborah J. Hayes

Funeral services for Deborah J. Hayes, age 77, of Marion, New York, will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following. Rev. Rob Schirmer will officiate. Mrs. Hayes passed away peacefully at her home on August 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Deborah is survived by her three daughters, Diane Hayes of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, Dina Hayes of Marion, NY, and Deidre Hayes-Cordero of Marion, NY. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Johnathon, Ashely, Deanna, Dustin, Adrianna, Allie, Ricky, Alyna, and Amaya; her beloved great-grandchildren, Owen, Penny, Everly, Luca, and Lyla; two sisters, Linda (Steve) Binion and Cheryl (Bruce) Alcombrack; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard G. Hayes, and by her parents, Franklin and Freida (Parow) Mason.

Deborah was born in Theresa, New York, and was a proud graduate of Theresa High School. She later married the love of her life, Richard G. Hayes, on August 27, 1966 with whom she shared many happy years before his passing.

Throughout her working life, Deborah dedicated herself to helping others. She was employed as a loan officer with City Bank in Pittsford, New York, where she was known for her friendly personality and willingness to assist others. Later, she found great fulfillment providing loving care to her husband, whose condition required the utmost kindness, compassion, and comfort to ensure his ability to live at home.

Deborah treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and will be remembered for her caring heart, quiet strength, generous spirit, and the love she freely shared with those around her. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by the people she loved.
