Dolores T. Cummings

Funeral services for Dolores “Dody” T. Cummings, age 85 of Ogdensburg will be held on Saturday Feb 4, 2017 at 2:00pm at Foxwood Memorial Park Chapel with Rev. Jay Seymour officiating. Mrs. Cummings passed away on Wednesday (Feb 1, 2017) at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility surrounded by her loving family.

Surviving are her children Timothy (“Peggy”) Cummings of Ogdensburg, Steven (Jeanne) Cummings of McKinney TX, Tammy (Michael) Sherry of Morristown and Jamie (Karen) Cummings of Wilmington MA; a brother Ralph (Betsy) Barr of Norfolk; two sisters Joan Bouchard of California and Judith “Cookie” (Jim) Beaupre’ of Winchester VA; nine grandchildren Tyler (Julie) Cummings, Taylor (Scott) Lyon, Sean Cummings (Yelena Synkova), Meghan Cummings, Capt USAF (Max Talsky), Bennett Sherry (Noel Tague), Joseph (Carlie) Sherry, Mathew Sherry, Brandon Cummings & Katie Cummings; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Dolores was born on August 9, 1931 in Ogdensburg NY, a daughter of the late Helmer & Jennie (Savino) Barr. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and continued her education at the Effey Lou Wallace Business School. She later married Thomas A. Cummings on April 9, 1952. He predeceased her in 1995.

She was a member of the St. John’s Episcopal Church and took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
