I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Doris. I had the great pleasure of being able to get to know and take care of her for a few years. She was always ready with a joke when I would come in her room our serert word was "my little walnut" even after I retired I would still go to uh to see all the "young" folks and my friends that I enjoyed while I was a cna for 25 years. Doris soar high my dear friend and god bless you.

I fondly remember visiting Doris at the United Helpers Nursing Home on State Street and also at the new place up on the hill!!! My mom and Mr. Russell ran the place for awhile --Mr. Fred Boehiem recently passed away also--he was at the old place when it all started!!!! I saw young Freddy at our 40th class reunion this passed summer--his mom is still alive!!! Edith Buxton was the other lady I used to visit that was in a wheel chair when I was young too!!! The good old days!!! I went up to United Helpers for the first time this year to see Mrs. Jean Duprey--our old neighbor--she turned 95 this year and just passed away!!! She had all her whits about her until the end but could not see/her granddaughter Becky did everything she could to help her!!!! It was very hard for me to go up there but I did go up there a few times all by myself to go to see Mrs. Jean Duprey--God Bless her Heart as she rests in peace with her husband Stutz and her son Danny and to all the others whom I knew that passed that I loved from United Helpers Nursing Home!!! God Bless You All--- Love and friendship--Karen An Morley Harris

So sad to hear of Doris's passing. She was a friend to my mom when she was in the nursing home. She was also a good friend to my daughter who was 8 years old and would go there to visit. I remember her running the little store they had there. She always had a smile on her face to greet you.
