

Born on March 15, 1938, in Ogdensburg, Joe was the son of the late Edward “Hi” and Marion (VanOrnum) Badlam. He was a proud graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy and a U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1962.
Joe worked for many years as a therapy aide at Rockland Psychiatric Center, where he retired in 1993. He was well-loved for his gentle spirit and kind nature. Outside of his work, Joe had a passion for auto body repair and was known for his love of animals. He was a regular at local establishments, always happy to share a laugh and catch up with friends.
Joe is survived by his children: Tim Badlam of Ogdensburg and Kimberly (John) Zaza of New Windsor, NY; his brothers Thomas (Karen) Badlam of Columbus, OH, and David (Susan) Badlam of Ogdensburg; his grandchildren Steven and Matthew Badlam of Orange County, NY, Dak (Kerri) Zaza of Massena, and Melissa (Stan) Kostek of Queensbury, NY and Justin Zaza of New Windsor, NY; great-grandchildren Reus Kostek, Nico Kostek, Sadie Fent and Sebastien Fent.
He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Graham, and a brother, John Badlam.
A proud member of the Ogdensburg Moose Lodge, Elks Club, and a life member of AmVets, Joe was dedicated to his community and treasured the camaraderie of his friends and fellow members. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
