Ellsworth "Al" H. Lyons

Funeral services for Ellsworth “Al” H. Lyons, age 93 of Ogdensburg will be held on Monday (Aug 13, 2018) at 12:00pm at Foxwood Memorial Park Chapel with Pastor Rob Schirmer officiating. Calling Hours will be held prior to the service at the mausoleum from 11:00-12:00. Mr. Lyons passed away on Monday (Aug 6, 2018) at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility.

Surviving are his children Deacon Patrick Lyons & his wife Sandra of Ogdensburg and Cindy Lyons-Hart & her husband Jim of Ogdensburg; grandson Benjamin Lyons of Ogdensburg and great-grandchildren Isabelle Rose & Della Lyons.

His wife Betty predeceased him in 2013.

Al was born on January 20, 1925 in Alexander NY, a son of the late Arthur & Isabel (Bowen) Lyons. He graduated from Alexander High School and entered the US Navy in 1943 during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He later married Betty J. Fox on August 2, 1946 in Perry, NY.

During his career he was employed at Westinghouse in Attica for 9 years, worked construction for 3 years then became employed at Texaco Oil Company where he worked for 29 years as their east coast executive.

Al was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, debating government issues, eating out and spending time with his family.
