Erdine "Peggy" Cole

Funeral services for Erdine J. “Peggy” Cole, age 71 of Ogdensburg will be held at 10:00am on Friday Oct 7, 2016 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday (Oct 6th) from 4:00-7:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. Cole passed away on Saturday (October 1, 2016) at the St. Joseph’s Nursing Home.

Surviving are three sons Peter (Mary) Cole of Orlando FL; Phillip (Julie) Cole of Bentonville, AR, and Paul (Carla) Cole of Plattsburgh NY; two brothers John Woodcock of Plattsburgh and Ernie Woodcock of Portland TN; six grandchildren Ashley, Joshua, Andrew, Anthony, Casey and Carley Cole; two brother in laws Dave & Jeff Cole both of Ogdensburg; cousins Betty (John) Kennedy of Ogdensburg, Charlotte (Tom) Parro of Heuvelton and Mary Ellen (James) Talarico of Waddington.

She was predeceased by her husband Peter J. Cole; a sister Nancy Valcour; a brother Lawrence Woodcock and two aunts Ida Bracy and Jean Ryan.

“Peggy” was born on July 12, 1945 in Ogdensburg NY, a daughter of the late Gerald & June (Bracy) Woodcock. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and later married Peter J. Cole on Jan 4, 1964 at Notre Dame Church. For many years she did child care in her home, taught religious education at the Catholic School, was past president of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, a “Minor Hockey Mom” and assisted her husband with coaching Grass Hopper Baseball.
