Funeral services for Frances E. Morrison, age 75 of the Pray Road, will be held on Monday (Jan 21, 2019) at 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will be private at the Maple Grove Cemetery in N. Lawrence at a later date.
Calling hours will be held also on Monday from 12:00pm until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home. Mrs. Morrison passed away on Tuesday (Jan 15th) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center after being stricken at home.
Surviving are her children Steven (Michelle) Morrison of Waldorf MA, Thomas (Maria) Morrison of Potsdam, Sara Morrison & her companion Loren Nowak of Lisbon and Amanda Morrison of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Samantha (Ken) Butler, Brandon (Lizzie) Morrison, Brianna Morrison, Pierson Morrison-Nowak, Elliott Morrison-Nowak, Oliver Morrison-Nowak, Isobel Morrison-Nowak, Rebecca (Aaron) Rounds, Elisabeth (Greg) Piede and John Conger; several great-grandchildren; two brothers Nelson (Mary) Flint and Charles (Mary) Flint both of Virginia; two sisters Patti Francisco of Tupper Lake and Dorothy (Charles) Denman of Ithaca along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Frances was predeceased by her husband Carl in 2008; a son Robert Morrison in 1993 and a brother George Flint in 2006.
She was born on February 26, 1943 in Stockholm NY, a daughter of the late Cecil & Elizabeth (Hilts) Flint. She graduated from St. Lawrence Central School in 1961 and later married Carl L. Morrison on November 2, 1961 at the United Presbyterian Church in Lisbon with Rev. Robert Simonds officiating.
She and her husband owned and operated a family farm for many years which they took great pride in. Frances enjoyed keeping her yard perfect, gardening, her cats, reading, knitting, writing weekly letters to family and friends, performing funeral escorts with the Patriot Guard Riders, and riding motors cycles with her son Tom as part of the American Legion Riders. Frances was proud to be a double blue star mother to her veteran sons, and was a CSE committee member at Lisbon Central School while her children attended.
