

Funeral services for George “Monte” Brassard, age 59 of Ogdensburg will be held on Friday October 6, 2017 at 4:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Lay Speaker Larry Caufield officiating. Interment will be at Foxwood Memorial Park. Mr. Brassard passed away on Tuesday (October 3, 2017) surrounded by his loving family at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
Surviving are his wife Elizabeth; a son George “Bucky” Brassard Jr. of Potsdam; two daughters Angel Brassard of Troy, NY and Andrea Brassard of Merrimack, NH; two sisters Suzanne Richards & her husband Jeffrey of Heuvelton and Lillianne Brassard of Ogdensburg; three step-daughters Christine, Michelle & Crystal; 9 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews & cousins.
“Monte” was born on March 22, 1958 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of the late Herbert & Carol (Sophy) Brassard. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and attended Mater Dei College, and later enlisted in the US Army from 1979 – 1981. On October 5, 2014 he married Elizabeth Richards.
During his career he was an EMT for the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad for several years and later became employed as a bus driver for the Ogdensburg City School District, Roethel Bus Lines and NYSARC until he retired in 2008.
“Monte” enjoyed coaching little league baseball, watching the NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys, working bingo at the Odd Fellows, involvement with Special Olympics, telling jokes, being Santa Claus for area children for many years and spending time with his family.
