Harold L. Youngs

Graveside services for Harold L. Youngs, age 87 of Lisbon NY and formerly of Sodus, NY will be held on Friday May 13, 2016 at 1:00pm at the South Sodus Cemetery with Rev. Dan Corretore officiating. Mr. Youngs passed away on January 27, 2016 at his home in Lisbon.

Surviving are two sons Steven Youngs & his companion Penny Riley of Lisbon, Keith (Brenda) Youngs of Waterloo NY, two daughters Stephanie (David) Clark of Waterloo NY, Melissa (Steve) Taber of N. Rose NY; a brother Vernon Youngs of S. Sodus NY; a sister Genevieve Fox of Montgomery NY; grandchildren Steven Youngs Jr., Bradford Youngs, Joseph Clark, Scott Youngs, Kimberly Youngs, Aaron Youngs, Haley Taber & Joseph Clark; 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Raymond & Gladys Youngs; a brother Everald Youngs and a sister Melba Jean Youngs.

Harold was born on April 6, 1928 in Sodus NY, the son of the late Raymond F. & Gladys (West) Youngs. He graduated from Lyons High School and later married Jane Moon on January 15, 1949 in Clyde NY.

During his career he was employed at Hickok Belt Company, Newark State School, Auburn Plastics Corp, Countryside Turf, Swanson’s Welding, Frank R. Deleo Painting & Roofing and lastly, part-time for John DeCoeq Vending and Ed Rivers Electrical.

During his adult life he was scout master of Boy Scout Troop 101 & Explorer Post 101 of Lyons NY. He was also a member in good standing of the Twin County Sportsman’s Association, Wayne County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs, Central Rifle & Pistol League, Hill Top Gun Club and MacDougall Sportsman’s Club. Harold was also a certified NRA shooting Instructor and mentored numerous adults and youth in the safe and accurate use of firearms.

He enjoyed competition shooting, hunting, fishing, traveling, his hunting camp, and spending time with his grandchildren.
