

Funeral services for James L. Cranfield, age 66 of Hammond will be held on Tuesday (January 13, 2015) at 6:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Lay Speaker Larry Caufield officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral from 3:00pm until the time of the service. Mr. Cranfield died unexpectedly on Friday (Jan 9, 2015).
Surviving is his wife Victoria; two daughter Donna (Tom) Coltman of Williamsfield OH and Janet (Jamie) Jordan of Dorset, OH; two brothers Frank (Joy) Cranfield of WV and Robert Cranfield of FL; two sisters Betty McMann of OH and Mary “Eydie” Moore of PA; 9 grandchildren: Samie, Jess, Tim, Heather, Joshua, Jonathon, Allen, Maxine & Liz “Lizard” along with several nieces nephews & cousins. Two brothers Carl & Ed Cranfield predeceased him.
Jim was born March 28, 1948 in Kentucky, a son of the late James & Sadie (Foster) Cranfield. He attended Ripley WV schools and later married Victoria M. Gunn on October 8, 1966 in Willoughby, OH.
During his career he was employed as a machinist for General Electric, owned and operated his own lawn care business, and has worked part-time for the Village of Hammond as a “Jack of all trades” for the past 16 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, socializing and spending time with his family and friends.
