Surviving is his father David W. Stout Jr.; two brothers David (Susan) Stout III and Michael (Cathy) Stout all of Brier Hill; nieces and nephews Aaron Stout, Abigail Stout, Anna Stout, Parker Stout and Tiffany (Lopez) Stout.

Jeffrey was predeceased by his mother Petronella “Nelly” Stout on April 13, 2018.

He was born on February 16, 1972 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of David & the late Nelly (VanErp) Stout. He graduated from Morristown High School and continued his education at SUNY Potsdam State where he earned a Bachelor’s degree.

In 1995 Jeff attended and completed an internship at Gallaudet University, a renowned education institution for the deaf and hard of hearing. Jeff’s work at Gallaudet demonstrated to the students at Gallaudet that people with a disability could overcome that challenge and work side by side with able-bodied persons. Jeff was a support system for other quadriplegics and paraplegics

Jeff was a prominent athlete at Morristown Central School. He was a four-year starter on the varsity soccer and baseball teams making several league all-star teams in both sports and in his senior year was the starting point guard on the most successful basketball team in Morristown Central School history. That year his team went 28-2, losing in the final four to the eventual State Champion. Jeff was extremely proud of this team accomplishment and recalled those memories fondly.

Jeff was a fixture at many of the areas sporting events. People would often go out of their way and walk over to say hi to him. He cared very deeply about the sports programs much like his Uncle Dean Daniels. Jeff could always be heard cheering for his hometown Green Rockets.

Jeff was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His love for his team often drove his friends to the edge of insanity as he playfully badgered them with the Steelers success. Jeff volunteered at several high schools doing talks on DWI. Jeff loved watching comedians and live comedy shows. Jeff loved spending time on the 4th of July in Morristown taking part in the festivities. Jeff enjoyed game nights, sewing club after hours at Langbrook and spending time with his family and numerous circle of friends.

Two of Jeff’s greatest enjoyments was attending his nieces and nephews sporting events and also going to the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino playing black jack with his friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Brier Hill Fire Department or the Morristown Fire & Rescue Squad. Condolences can be shared also online at www.foxandmurrayfuneralhome.com.

Rest in peace Jeff. I went to Gouverneur High School but did go to some of Morristown's school functions that you were at also. We only met a couple of times here and there throughout the years and every time was a blessing and you always remembered who I was. My cousin, Amy Hays Mulvaney, who went to Morristown was the reason we were acquaintances. It was my pleasure to be your friend.

Love, Barbie Hays Shampine
