

Kathleen A. (Crawford) Sprowls, 92, of Rensselaer Falls, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Maplewood Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Canton, surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Fox & Murray Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Old DeKalb Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
She is survived by her children: Richard (Lamona) Crawford of Lisbon and Cindy Crawford of Ogdensburg; stepson Richard Sprowls of Ohio; stepdaughter Sheila Edgar of Heuvelton brothers William Conger of Brier Hill and James Conger of Baldwinsville; 8 grandchildren Darrick Ward, Dana (Ward) LaCoss, Summer Smith, Julie Smith, Joseph Crawford, Kathryn Crawford, Joshua Crawford, Dylan Crawford; several great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; along with several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband Ivan Sprowls (1991); a son Rod Brouillard; a daughter Norma Savage; stepdaughter Carol DiLandro; adopted brother Tony Altier and grandchildren Jason Ward and Michael Ward.
Kathleen was born on October 16, 1932, in Hammond, NY, a daughter of the late Hermon & Violet (Worden) Conger. She attended Hammond School and was first married to Richard Crawford in 1949. The marriage later ended in divorce. She then married Ivan Sprowls on June 24, 1972.
Kathleen worked at the Woolworth Store and waitressed at the Oasis Restaurant on Black Lake. She also helped her husband operate their family farm.
She was a member of the DePeyster Friendship Circle and participated in DePeyster Festival activities. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, quilting, square dancing, crafting, birdwatching, and most of all, spending time with her family.
