

Funeral Services for Kimberly B. Hays, age 53 of Gouverneur and Ogdensburg will be held at 11:00am on Thursday (Sept 11, 2014) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Pastor David Hart officiating. Burial will follow the service at Stone Church Cemetery in Morristown.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the funeral home. Kim passed away on Saturday (Sept 6, 2014) surrounded by her family at Upstate Medical Center as a result of complications from a severe infection.
Surviving is her son Dylan Young of Gouverneur; her longtime companion Scott Benson of Ogdensburg; her mother Carol Elliott of Macomb; three brothers Ferron Elliott & his wife Penny of Hammond, Bradley Elliott of Morristown & Michael Elliott of Macomb; three sisters Shirley White & her husband William of Hammond, Kaye White & her husband Paul of Hammond, Katrina O’Donnell & her husband Richard along with several nieces, nephews & cousins.
Her father John Elliott Jr. predeceased her.
Kim was born on July 26, 1961 in Canton, NY a daughter of John Jr. & Carol (Cameron) Elliott. She graduated from Morristown High School and continued her education at Mater Dei College earning a degree in Early Childhood, and later a Registered Nursing Degree from SUNY Canton. A previous marriage to Chris Hays ended with a separation, but the couple remained friends over the years.
During her career she was employed as a secretary for Northwest Tech, owned and operated Bookworm Bookstore in Gouverneur, Student Taught at Fowler High School, worked for Dr. Wesley in Ogdensburg and was a registered nurse for Alex Bay Hospital, Carthage Hospital, EJ Noble Hospital and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center presently working as an Operating Room Nurse until becoming ill.
Kim was a member of The New York State Nurses Association and enjoyed gardening, riding motorcycles, sewing, quilting, raising golden retrievers, being outdoors, singing in the Tailgate Band and spending time with her family and friends.
