

Funeral services for Louis “Louie” F. Lalone, age 83 of Ogdensburg will be held 10:00am on Friday (July 8, 2016) at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Interment will follow at Foxwood Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 3:00-7:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mr. Lalone passed away at Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse surrounded by his loving family.
Surviving are his children Dale (Lisa) Lalone of Portland ME, Christopher & Stephanie Lalone of Syracuse, Scott (Kimberly) Lalone of Ogdensburg; two daughters Jodi (William) Fowler of Gilmanton NH & Lori (Pat) Rafferty of Ogdensburg; a sister Marilyn Massia of Ogdensburg; 11 grandchildren Abby Lalone, Ashley Brisson, Amanda Lalone, Peyton Lalone, Caroline Lalone, Emma Lalone, Matt Fowler, Dillon Fowler, William Rafferty, Timothy Rafferty & Katie Rafferty; two great-grandchildren Genevieve Brisson and Lilliannah Rafferty and many nieces, nephews & cousins. His wife Theresa & a sister Linda Parish predeceased him.
Louie was born on January 13, 1933 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of the late Raymond & Alice (Davis) Lalone. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and enlisted in the US Airforce from 1952 – 1956 during the Korean War. On March 28, 1953, he married Theresa Bruyere at Notre Dame Church with Msgr. AD Charbonneau officiating.
During his career he worked at Alcoa Manufacturing, Fred Shurtleff Inc., Bill Woods Fruit Market and in 1966, he and his wife owned and operated Lalone’s Chevron Station for 24 years until 1990. In 1994, he went back to mechanic work at Walmart Tire & Lube Center where he stayed for an additional 15 years until 2009 when he again retired.
Louie was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Chamber of Commerce, Cranberry Lake Hunting & Fishing Club and St. Mary’s Cathedral Parish. He enjoyed raising ponies, hunting, watching grandchildren’s sporting events, watching the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with his family.
