

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday (January 19, 2025) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Dettmer officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Flackville Cemetery in Lisbon. Calling hours will be held also on Monday from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, prior to the funeral.
Marion is survived by her son, Edward (Linda) McAllister of Lakeland, FL; her daughter, Mary (Kenneth) Taber of Mooers Forks, NY; her grandchildren, Edward McAllister of Lakeland, FL, Catherine (Eric) Ooms of Old Chatham, NY, JoAnne (Rob) Searing of Flower Mound, TX, Abigail (Joshua) Mesec of Universal City, TX, and Daniel Taber of Aubrey, TX; and her great-grandchildren, Arend, Grace, Noah, and Micah Ooms; James, Anna, and Alan Searing; and Bobby, Randy, and Benji Mesec. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward McAllister; her sister, Ida Childs; and her brother, Rev. Samuel Simmons.
Marion was born on May 5, 1923, in the Town of DePeyster, the daughter of the late Isaac and Alice (Somerville) Simmons. She graduated from Heuvelton District School and was married to Edward McAllister on April 7, 1945, at the Methodist Parsonage in Heuvelton. Together, they worked tirelessly on the family farm, sharing a life built on devotion, faith, and hard work.
A faithful and active member of the Heuvelton Wesleyan Church, Marion served as a Sunday School teacher and worked in missions work. She and her husband were also longtime members of the local senior citizens club, where they enjoyed fellowship and community.
Marion will be remembered for her deep devotion for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her church, her unwavering faith, her strong work ethic, and the joy she found in spending time with her family and friends. She also was an avid reader, enjoyed playing games with others and caring for her house plants. Her kindness, quiet strength, and gentle spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
