Michael K. Barkley Jr.

Mikey was born on June 27th, 1972 in Ogdensburg, New York, son of Michael Kent Barkley Sr. and Linda (Thomas) Edwards. He graduated from Lisbon Central School and entered the United States Army in 1990 until 1992 when he received his honorable discharge.

He started his career working as a correctional officer in New York State. Later moving to Ottawa serving the streets as an OC Transpo bus driver for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being in nature and spending time with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by his parents Michael Barkley Sr., of Ogdensburg and Linda Edwards of Plattsburgh; a son Michael “Will” Barkley & his companion Milica Lakicevic of Ottawa Ontario; a daughter Pyper Barkley & her companion Ryan Giroux of Sudbury Ontario; four brothers Vincent “Bucky” Bresett & his wife Jodi of Ogdensburg, Joseph Bresett & his wife Beth of Ogdensburg, Ben Barkley & his wife Katie of Norfolk and Justin Barkley of Dannemora; and Mikey’s former wife Kim Barkley of Ottawa, Ontario; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles.

Funeral services for Michael Kent Barkley Jr., of Ogdensburg will be held on Saturday September 16, 2023 at 2:30pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the White Church Cemetery in Lisbon. Calling hours will be held on Saturday September 16th, from 12:00 – 2:30pm at the funeral home.
