Preston E. Lewis, age 78 a resident of the St. Joseph’s Nursing Home and formerly of Hammond passed away on Tuesday (Feb 16, 2016) at the nursing home. There will be no funeral services as per his request.
Surviving is his wife Beverly of Ogdensburg; a son David Lewis & his companion Debora Ritz of Lyons NY; a daughter Teri Perretta & her husband Mike of Rensselaer Falls; a brother William Lewis of Texas and a granddaughter Jessica Lewis of Connecticut.
A brother Thomas Lewis predeceased him.
Preston was born on November 30, 1937 in Hammond NY, a son of the late Thomas A. & Margaret R. (Madlin) Lewis. He attended schools in Hammond, Oswego and Canton and later married Beverly Rueckwald on December 19, 1959 in W. Carthage.
During his career he worked as a machinist at Air Brake in Watertown, co-owned & operated WNS Auto Machine Shop; Lewis & Lewis Petroleum; and Black Lake Supply in Edwardsville until 1990 when he retired.
