Richard L. Lovely

Richard L. Lovely, age 73, of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025. A burial will be held at Ogdensburg Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fox & Murray Funeral Home.

Rich was born December 18, 1951, in Ogdensburg, NY, to the late Eugene C. and Rita I. (Strack) Lovely. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy, and during his high school years, began working at Ashley’s Home Center — a position that blossomed into over a dedicated 40-year career. In addition to his work there, Rich was a skilled carpenter who spent many years honing his craft and helping others with projects both big and small.

On June 22, 1990, Richard married Susan M. Kendall, after a 10-year commitment to each other. He enjoyed carpentry, helping people out, his daily walks in the sun, trips to Florida and Texas, and visiting family and friends.

Richard is survived by his brothers, Don O’Shea and his companion Patricia Denny of Ogdensburg, Thomas Lovely of Florida, Gene Lovely of Florida, and John Lovely of Norwood, NY; his sisters, Ellen Washburn of Florida and Rena Rolfe and her husband Jay of Ogdensburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Susan M. Lovely on August 14, 2008; his parents, Eugene and Rita Lovely; his siblings, Patricia Thivierge, Elaine “Katie” Chevrier, Kenny “KL” (Linda) Lovely, James (Tina) Lovely, and a brother in infancy; and a special nephew, Shawn Lovely.
