I miss talking with him, whether it was cards, sports, business, family, life in general, he was always an inspiration to me. He is in my prayers, and so are you.

I just recently learned of Dick's passing . I have known Dick for several years , although we never met personally we had many long and interesting phone calls on many topics not just sports cards . He was a kind gentleman , very knowledgable , caring , deeply loved his family , and was a follower of our Lord Jesus .
    It was a blessing that Dick came into my life and I pray hard for his family for their loss . 

I had the pleasure of sitting next to Dick in the saxophone section of Wind Ensemble in high school. I will never forget his sense of humor and talent. He was a joy to know. Bless you Dick for the way you spread happiness. ❤️ 

I too grew up with Dick  He had a terrific sense of humor and made me laugh a lot. I saw him often out of school as I took dancing lesson from his aunt.  Gid bless you soul!

I grew up with Dick.... went to Hoover Drive and GOHS with him.  I remember his humor.... always smiling and a sweet guy.  My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends ❤️

We recently met Mr. Towle when he offered his time to help us assess and appraise a coin collection we had inherited.  He spent a whole day with us looking through many boxes of old coins and sharing his advice.  He was so affable; generously sharing his knowledge and passion for coins and his exuberant delight when we uncovered something rare.  Along the way he shared some parts of his life's story and his tales were both amazing and inspiring.  He even helped us find a buyer and acted as an intermediary.  He certainly left a lasting impression.

We think that the world has lost one of its better angels...

We are so very sorry of hearing about Dicks passing.  We have been friends  so for many  years.  They came to our Rogers Old Oak cottages on Black Lake    For many years before  buying their home  there. Dick will be missed  by  all the Rogers family,  and everyone. Talked to Richard in the past regarding sportscards. I found him so very likeable, friendly and helpful over the telephone and emails.  I enjoyed doing business with him even though just briefly.  He will be missed.  To the family my profound condolences.   Comments from a customer. 

I can remember when  adams parents asked me to come up to black lake about 30 years ago and I went out fishing with dick and adam. That's when I really got into fishing.  Dick taught me alot about bass fishing and  crappie fishing.  We caught a lot of fish in those 30 plus years I  am going to miss going out with him on black lake. But I  know when Adam and I  go out fishing yo will be looking over us amd make sure we catch alot of fish. Ill miss you very much.  Ray.

I grew up with Dick, one street over. We have been friends for life. When our lives took us to distant places we continued to communicate especially about our common basketball and wind ensemble experiences. at GOHS. Dick was a respected and valued friend. We have sadly lost a lifelong friend. Thru KPAA softball, Hoover Drive  sports and band, Greece Olympia band, orchestra, wind ensemble, football and endless dances and laughter.
We had a band named The Four with Marsh Stiler(piano), Jeff Bruce (bass), Dick Towle( saxophone) and Pete Tuffo (drums). We had the honor to open for Dave Brubeck at Buffalo University. Pretty cool for teens,
Dick was a family man who cherished his family, and friends and was a champion for those with special needs. 
Dick always called to cheer our kids on!  He loved friends, laughter, Buffalo Bills, fishing, nature and music.
Somehow I picture Dick enjoying the angels’ harp music, saying graciously, “ That was lovely..now slide over and let me introduce you to jazz,,”

I first met Dick many years ago at Black Lake NY.  Dick, Kathy, and their son Adam were on their annual fishing vacation. They were staying at Roger’s Old Oak camps we were staying at Butternut Cove.

We quickly got acquainted and for several years we had the same weeks to enjoy Black Lake.

Then, as sometimes happens,  we didn’t see one another for many years.  Dick and his family bought some property and were now living on the shores of Black Lake

I remember our next meeting very well. It was on a Sunday morning. It was rather chilly and too windy to go fishing so my son, Jamie and I decided, we would go visit the “Towels” after not seeing them for years.

We rang the door bell and Kathy came to the door. We ask if Adam was home and then Dick came to the door. With a big smile he said “ I know you….. you’re the Smiths from PA” and indeed we were.

We instantly were invited in with hugs and hand shakes. Of course it was hand shakes from Dick and hugs from Kathy.  After some small talk the conversation quickly changed to fishing. You will not find many fishermen like Dick. He immediately told us where he and Adam were catching crappies. He even told us what color of jigs he was using. We took his advice and found out he was “Spot On”. 

After that we went to visit them for the next 2 years. Who would have known that 2021 would be our last visit with Dick and family.  Dick invited us to stop by next year and I’m sure we would have done that.

To Adam...I know you will miss your father very much. I have to believe that you lost your best fishing    partner. You’ve got some big shoes to fill, but I’m confident you’ll do just fine.

I'm so sorry to hear about Dick's passing.   I still have the teddy bear he gave me when I was little, and remember how excited my siblings & I would get when he and Kathy and their sons were coming out to my family's for dinner.   He was always so much fun.  May he rest in peace.

When I was in College the Towle family had us over the house to eat a few times and Mr. Towle was kind enough to get us Bills tickets to enjoy.  Super generous and nice people. Condolences to the family. RIP.  

Dick has been my long time buddy...he just recently wished me happy birthday ... man I'll miss him. We worked together at Eastman Kodak in Rochester New York for 11 years. He was so much fun, great smile and big wonderful laugh...we talked a few times over the years and it was always the best conversations...football fishing and everything under the sun. I will miss  you being in this world...prayers of peace to the Towle Family and know that Dick was loved by so many...

Dick and I shared so many laughs during our years at  Greece Olympia High School.
He was a very good alto saxophone player in the GOHS Wind Ensemble, which was a select group of student musicians.  
Every time I saw Dick at school, he would crack me up in laughter with his witty sense of humor.  
Up to this day,  whenever I think of Dick, I can't help but to smile; however, today I cry. 
I will always remember him as a very pleasant, up-beat, all around great guy. Since Dick and I were only 12 days apart in age, I will never forget him.

I am so sorry for your loss. We had many talks about our favorite Buffalo Bills! Thoughts and prayers for all of you.

It was so sad to hear of Dick's passing.  We shared many laughs  during our time working together at the New York Air Brake, and many stories came from those few years there in the finance team.  My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family during this difficult time.

I was thinking about Dick a few days ago & thought about giving him a call. So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a true friend for many years & I always enjoyed speaking & working with him.

So sorry to hear of Dicks passing. He had a great spirit and it was a blessing to have known him.  His positive attitude towards every topic we ever discussed was a pleasant difference from what others sometimes have to offer on controversial topics.  Rest In Peace my friend …… your faith and  persona will be a continuing legacy for those who knew you.
