Robert A. Gilmer

A Graveside Military Service for Robert A. Gilmer, age 60 of Lisbon will be held at 11:00am on Friday (November 3, 2023) at the Fineview Cemetery in Hammond. Mr. Gilmer passed away on Tuesday (October 31, 2023) at the Albany Medical Center.

Surviving are his siblings David (Amy) Gilmer of Florida, Sherrie Moquin of Morristown, Pamela Bailey of Ogdensburg, JoAnne (Daniel) Brabant of Canton and Joseph Ten Eyck of Brier Hill; step-brother Steven (Brenda) St. Dennis of Canada; a special friend Robert Gilmour of Morristown; a former companion Leah Forcier and her children Danny & Emily of Connecticut; his pet cats Odie & Thor; along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Wayne & Joan (Goodrich) Gilmer; a brother Douglas Gilmer; and a step-brother Michael St. Dennis.

Bob was born on March 9, 1963 in Ogdensburg, NY and graduated from Morristown High School. He continued his education at Canton ATC and later entered the United State Marine Corp in 1982 working in the supply administration and operations dept. He also was a recruiter for three years while enlisted. Bob received his honorable discharge in 1995, and held rank of Sargent.

A previous marriage to Vicky Hovey ended and Bob returned home, and he began working on area farms and for Perretta Meat Market in Ogdensburg until 2000 when he became disabled. In his spare time he enjoyed working and visiting with friends and family.
