Robert W. Lauber

held on Tuesday beginning with calling hours at 4:00pm until the time of the service

at 6:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Schirmer officiating.

Burial will be on Wednesday at the Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, NY.

Mr. Lauber died at his home early Friday morning while under the care of his family and

Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

Surviving is his wife Dorothy; a son Brian S. Lauber of Canton; a daughter Karen L.

Wright & her husband William of Ogdensburg; a brother Thorton Stuart Lauber and

his wife Lois of Scotia, NY; two grandchildren Thomas S. Wright of Lake Placid and

Ellen E. Wright of Ogdensburg along with several nieces, nephews & cousins. A son, Robert G. Lauber and a brother John G. Lauber predeceased him.

Robert was born on August 14, 1925 in Cornwall, Ontario a son of the late Thorton

W. & Gertrude L. (Hirst) Lauber. He graduated from Amsterdam High School and

Union College in Schenectady, NY with a degree in finance. He then married Dorothy Holcomb on November 15, 1952 in Waterford, NY. He worked many years in the finance profession and retired from the NYS Higher Education Dept in 1986.

He was a member of the Waterford and Heuvelton Methodist Churches and enjoyed

reading, traveling to the southwest and fulfilled his life long dream of flying airplanes.

He was a devoted family man and especially enjoyed his children & grandchildren.
