Shirley E. Burnett, age 89 of Ogdensburg, passed away Wednesday evening June 28, 2023 at the Maplewood Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Canton. As per her request, there will be no public services. Entombment will be at the Oswegatchie Mausoleum.
She is survived by a sister Kathy (Joseph) Yorkey of Georgia and a nephew Phillip (Joan) Burnett of Rensselaer Falls. Her brother Frank Bushnell predeceased her.
Shirley was born on November 21, 1933 in Geneva, a daughter of the late Frank & Elizabeth (Fitzpatrick) Bushnell. She attended Ogdensburg Free Academy for her education, and was later married to Lawrence B. Burnett on April 27, 1960. He predeceased her in 2021.
She worked for the Ogdensburg City School District in the cafeteria for 27 years, and was a member of the Notre Dame Parish.
