In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and entombment will be at the Oswegatchie Mausoleum.
Stan is survived by his son, David Seguin of Lakewood, CO; his daughter, Michelle (Steve) MacDonald of Buffalo, NY; his cherished granddaughter, Chelsea McGinniss, and great-granddaughter, Eliza McGinniss; his brother, Larry Seguin of Elba, NY; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember him fondly.
He was born on May 1, 1940, in Ogdensburg, the son of the late Albert & Rose Seguin. He was a proud graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy and later married Elizabeth Julien, the love of his life, who predeceased him in 2008.
Stan dedicated 25 years of his working life to Standard Shade Roller in Ogdensburg, where he held a variety of positions and earned the respect of his coworkers. His leadership and commitment were evident in his many years serving as President of the Union.
Beyond his career, Stan’s greatest joy came from connecting with others and giving back to his community. He opened his home and heart as a foster parent, coached little league baseball, and brought smiles to countless faces as the DJ at the Odd Fellows roller skating rink. He had a deep love for music, enjoyed lively conversations about politics, and could often be found cheering on a hockey game. Stan also had a special fondness for German Shepherd dogs.
Known for his warm personality and quick wit, Stan had a remarkable gift for turning strangers into friends with just a conversation. He will be remembered as a genuinely kind, good-natured man with a sharp sense of humor and a generous spirit.
Memorial contributions may be made to German Shepherd Rescue of NY, Inc., P.O. Box 242, Delmar, NY 12054. Condolences and fond memories may be shared online at www.foxandmurrayfuneralhome.com.
Stan’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and connection will live on in all who knew him.
