

Terry L. Conant, age 77, of Canton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose warm heart and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held in February 2026.
Terry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Michelle Conant; his two daughters, Casey (Thomas) Bliss of Potsdam and Kelly (Kenny) Thayer of Waddington; his six beloved grandchildren, Jaelyn & Declan Bliss, Gannon, McKinley, Graham & Keeghan Thayer; a brother, Kurt (Louise) Conant of South Colton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd E. and Jean N. (Graves) Conant.
Born on February 16, 1948, in Potsdam, NY, Terry was a graduate of Canton Central School, Class of 1965. He furthered his education at Canton ATC, earning an associate’s degree. On September 5, 1992, Terry married the love of his life, Michelle Ruddy, in Theresa, NY, and together they shared a lifetime of love and memories.
Terry spent his career working in various roles, from managing the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Rockland County to working at Parkway, Stan's Auto, and Hazardous Waste Management in Potsdam until his retirement in 2015. His work ethic, dedication, and kindness were appreciated by all who worked alongside him.
Outside of work, Terry had many interests that brought him joy. He loved spending time on his tablet, gardening, and camping. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of St. Lawrence University Hockey and WWE Wrestling. Above all, Terry cherished the time spent with his family, making memories and offering his unwavering support and love.
Terry was also a proud member of the Teamsters Union and a former member of the Grays Bowling League in Canton. His sense of humor and positive attitude brightened every room he entered, and he will be fondly remembered for his generosity, loyalty, and genuine love for those around him.
