OBITUARY

Theresa M. Cary

A memorial mass and burial for Theresa M. Cary, 89, of Ogdensburg, will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Church of Assumption Cemetery in Redford, NY. Theresa passed away Saturday night (May 09, 2020) at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.

She leaves behind a son William Venne, of Saudi Arabia; daughters: Rita Lewis of Ogdensburg, NY, Jean Borges of Aurora, CO, Joan (Wes) Bailey of South Jordan, UT and Susan Mitchell of Jericho, VT; six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several cousins.

Theresa was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Venne, her second husband, James Cary, daughter Ann Marie Venne and a son Lawrence Venne.

Theresa was born on December 9, 1930 to the late Arthur and Helen (Myers) Anderson in Riverview, NY. She attended and graduated from Sallaz Academy, Redford, NY and went on to further her education in Plattsburgh, earning her nursing license. She began her career as a nurse working for Champlain-Valley Physicans Hospital in Plattsburgh. She then continued her career at Will Rogers Hospital in Saranac Lake, Clinton County Infirmary, Fort Harrison VA Medical Center in Montana, Fort Lyons VA Hospital in Colorado, and Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, from where she retired in 1996.

I remember Theresa just being a quiet little lady that my sister Sandy use to check on every day. She enjoyed going down to our fun nights when she was feeling better and she always had her same seat at the same table we saved for her. She will be missed so go in peace Ms. Cary until we meet again. <3
