Funeral services for Virginia R. Bogart, age 73 a resident of the Riverledge Healthcare Facility in Ogdensburg and formerly of Hammond will be held on Friday (Oct 26, 2012) at 12:00 at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Pastor David Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Hammond.
Calling hours will be held also on Friday from 11:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Bogart passed away Saturday (Oct 20, 2012) at the Healthcare Facility surrounded by her family.
Surviving is her son Steven Bogart & his wife Shirley of Hammond; A daughter Leslie Tate & her husband “Bird” of Hammond; sisters Betty McCarthy of IL, Carol Grey & her husband Edward of Albany, NY, Phyllis Dumoulin of Londonderry, NH; a brother Allen Dunham & his wife Cathy of Hammond; a sister-in-law Sue Dunham of Hammond; grandchildren Travis Davis of Alex Bay, Amanda Villamor & her husband Bryson of Hammond, Caitlin Davis of CA, Shelby & Jacob Tate both of Hammond, step-grandchildren Alvin Baxter of Massena,& Deserie VanNote & her companion Otis Rumble of Watertown; great-grandchildren Layla Rebecca Jane Farrell, Kolby Jason Farrell, Cash “Johnny” Villamor, Nicholas Michael VanNote, Preston Douglas VanNote & Mason Allen Rumble; a special cousin Dwane Dunham of Baldwinsville and many nieces & nephews.
A daughter Tammy Davis, a sister Kathleen Reed; a brother Charles Dunham and her long time companion Edwin Arquitt predeceased her.
Virginia was born on September 23, 1939 in Hammond, NY a daughter of Frank & Mary (Shutler) Dunham. She graduated from Hammond Central School in 1958, and then completed her nurse’s aid course at EJ Noble Hospital in Alex Bay. She was a past member of the Hammond Presbyterian Church, The Pleasant Valley Homemaker Association and an active organizer for the Hammond Fair. Virginia enjoyed playing dominos and cards, traveling to Florida, spending time on the St. Lawrence River, crafts, socializing, listening to music, “family wing dings” and cherished the love between her sisters and spending time with her family.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Hammond Fire and Rescue, Hammond Fair Association or the Riverledge Healthcare Facility.
