Graveside services for Vivian M. Hammill, age 90 a resident of the Highland Nursing Home in Massena and formerly of Heuvelton will be held at a later date at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Vernon, NY. Mrs. Hammill died July 15, 2012 at the Massena Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving is her son John W. Hammill Jr. & his wife Anita of Jacksonville, FL; a granddaughter Sara Hammill also of Jacksonville, FL.
Her husband John W. Hammill; a sister Oletha Alguire; and three brothers Clifford, Donald, and Vincnet Howie predeceased her.
Vivian was born on March 2, 1922 in De Peyster, NY. She was a daughter of the late Renzo & Erdine (Mayne) Howie. She obtained her education from Heuvelton rural school and married John W. Hammill on July 18, 1942. She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, sewing and knitting.
