Wade was born on September 17, 1979, in Potsdam, a son of Craig and Beverly (Dutton) Morrill. He graduated from Potsdam High School in 1997 and went on to attend Paul Smith’s College, where he earned a degree in Forestry Recreation. His education and love for the outdoors shaped both his career and his passions throughout life. A prior marriage to Laticia Hamilton ended, but the couple remained friends throughout the years.
Over the years, Wade worked for National Grid and the St. Lawrence County Highway Department, while also lending his skills to many carpentry and electrical projects for friends, family, and those in need. He was known as someone you could always count on—ready to help, fix, or lend a hand without hesitation.
Above all else, Wade was devoted to his son, Blake. He took immense pride in watching Blake play basketball, soccer, and golf, never missing an opportunity to cheer him on. Wade was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, fishing, boating, and camping, and he was equally known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor that brought laughter wherever he went. His generous spirit shone through in his quiet acts of kindness and his routine giving to those less fortunate.
Wade was a member of several hunting clubs, the Elks Lodge in Potsdam, and the Moose Lodge in Ogdensburg, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and community.
He is survived by his beloved son, Blake Morrill of Ogdensburg; his mother, Beverly Morrill of Ogdensburg; his father, Craig Morrill of Potsdam; his sister, Wendy Morrill of Ogdensburg; his niece, Riley Barton; his nephew, Jack Barton; his former wife Laticia Hamilton and her parents Larry & Lillian Hamilton on Heuvelton; along with many cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
In honoring Wade’s wishes, there will be no formal services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Ogdensburg Moose Lodge, with the date and time to be announced.
Memorial contributions may be made to the OFA Class of 2026. Condolences and fond memories may also be shared online at www.foxandmurrayfuneralhome.com.
Wade will be remembered for his generosity, his love of family, his laughter, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He is guarding over all of us.
