Funeral services for Wanda J. McGaw, age 68 of Ogdensburg will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday (Aug 15, 2018) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. James Shurtleff officiating. Her place of rest will be at Foxwood Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be held also on Wednesday from 12:00pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Wanda passed away Sunday (Aug 12, 2018) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Surviving are her children, Tonya (Chris) Snyder of Ogdensburg; Jeremy (Michelle) McGaw of Heuvelton; sisters Nettie Palmer of Rensselaer Falls, Cassie, Donnelly of Hammond, Nancy (Art) Shattuck of Heuvelton; a brother David (Anne) Donnelly of Heuvelton; grandchildren Nicholas Snyder, Alexa Kiah, Ava McGaw, Raya McGaw & Briella McGaw; a brother-in-law Raymond Howes of Heuvelton; sister-in-law Judy Donnelly of Canton; along with several nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband Ronald in 2011; sisters Mary LaRock, Marjorie Howes and Ula Donnelly; brothers Robert Donnelly, Arlen “Hank” Donnelly, Howard Donnelly, Donald Donnelly; brother-in-law Albert Palmer and sister-in-law Linda Donnelly.
Wanda was born on April 19, 1950 in Massena NY, a daughter of the late Percy & Eileen (Ogle) Donnelly. She graduated from Heuvelton Central School, and later married Ronald McGaw on December 7, 1968 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Heuvelton.
During her career, she worked as a social welfare examiner for the Department of Social Services from 1968 to 2008. Wanda was a member of CSEA and enjoyed going to the casino, doing crossword puzzles, traveling, being an advocate for nursing home residents, listening to music, going to parades and spending time with her family.
