Wayne N. Randall Sr.

Wayne was born in Ogdensburg, New York, to George and Delora Randall. He graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1960 and spent his entire life in the North Country, where he built a reputation as a hardworking, dependable, and kind man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Throughout his career, Wayne worked for Fred Shurtleff, the State Hospital, Skelly Tire, NAPA Auto Parts, and ultimately Reagan's Auto, where he retired after many years of dedicated service. Known simply as "Randy" to many, he became a familiar and welcoming face to countless customers who trusted him with their vehicles. His knowledge, honesty, and friendly personality earned him the respect and friendship of generations of people throughout the community.

Wayne was a man of deep faith and service. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul through Our Lady's Outreach, and was an active parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral, where he faithfully attended Mass each Sunday. His quiet generosity and commitment to helping others reflected the values by which he lived.

Above all else, Wayne cherished his family. One of his greatest joys was spending time at the family camp on the St. Lawrence River. For generations, the camp has been a place where family gathered to create lasting memories. Wayne loved fishing, watching the ships pass along the river, and, most of all, watching his children and grandchildren laugh, swim, and enjoy the river he loved so dearly. The memories made there will remain one of his greatest legacies.

On May 29, 1976, he married the love of his life, Margaret Looby, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage until his passing.

He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Randall; his children, Teresa Randall; Philip (Casey) Randall; Mary (Romer) Rodriguez; Wayne (Amy) Randall; Julie Randall (Kevin Collins); Denise LaCombe; Delora Switzer (partner, Eric Girard); Paul LaCombe (partner, Lori Dibble); David LaCombe (partner, Sandy Jensen); Tracy Randall (partner, Ken Buckley); and Kelly Randall. He also leaves behind 61 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by his love and guidance.

Wayne is also survived by his sister, Patricia Ball, and his sister-in-law, Patricia Randall. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Delora Randall; his brother, George Randall; his brother-in-law, Don Ball; his sister, Eleanor Cunningham; his brother-in-law, Daniel Cunningham; his son-in-law, Paul Switzer; his granddaughter, Hannah Meyn; and his great-granddaughter, Parker Green.

Wayne will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his strong work ethic, his faith, and the genuine kindness he extended to everyone he met. Whether sharing stories at the garage, attending church, or relaxing by the river surrounded by family, Wayne lived a life defined by humility, generosity, and love.

His legacy lives on through the family he treasured and the countless lives he touched throughout the Ogdensburg community.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time. Wayne's memory will forever be a blessing, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Rev. Chris Looby and Rev. John Looby concelebrating. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to St. Joseph’s Home or Our Lady’s Outreach formerly known as St. Vincent DePaul.
