

Funeral Mass for William A. Barkley, age 76 of Ogdensburg will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday (June 16, 2015) at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial will follow the service at Notre Dame Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with a Knights of Columbus prayer being held at 7:15pm. Bill died Friday (June 12, 2015) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center with his family by his side.
Surviving is his wife Alberta; a son Michael Barkley of Watertown; daughter Michelle Webster & her husband Jon of Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, NV; a brother Paul Barkley of Ohio; a sister Barbara Eich & her husband Roger of Saratoga Springs; two grandchildren Terry Webster II and Jasmin Webster; along with many nieces, nephews & cousins. A brother Timothy Barkley predeceased him.
Bill was born on May 23, 1939 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of the late Cyril & Veronica (LaLonde) Barkley. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy for his education, and later married Alberta A. Dominie on July 1, 1961 at St. Raphael’s Church in Heuvelton.
During his career he was employed at JJ Newberry’s, Ogdensburg Bowl, St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in the Bakery Department and later transferred to the Transportation Department where he worked until his retirement in 1995.
Bill was an active St. Mary’s Cathedral parishioner and alter server, a member of Am Vets, Ogdensburg Moose Lodge, Ogdensburg Men’s Dart League and the Knight of Columbus where he was a 4th degree Knight. He enjoyed golfing, playing darts, traveling and spending time with his family.
