William R. Brothers

Funeral services for William R. Brothers, age 59 of Lincolnton, NC and formerly of Rensselaer Falls will be held on Wednesday (May 25, 2011) at 10:00am at Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Deacon Francis Bateman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Massena.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday (May 24, 2011) from 2-4 & 6-8 at the funeral home. Mr. Brother died Thursday (May 19, 2011) at his home in Lincolnton, NC.

Surviving is his wife Lisa; two sons Michael J. Alguire of VA and William Alguire & his wife Alison of Canton; a step-son David Wright & his wife Suzanne of Rockhill, SC; step-daughters Amy Gibson & her husband Robert of Maiden, NC and Tina Sharpstene & her husband Tim of Rensselaer Falls; brothers Neil Brothers & his wife Lodine of Lisbon, Roy Brothers & his wife Colleen of Hermon, Rudolph Brothers of South Colton, James Brothers & his wife Mary of Madrid; a sister Mrs. John (Diane) LaMay of Ogdensburg along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews & cousins.

A brother Ernest Brothers & a sister Shirley Brothers predeceased him.

William was born on January 25, 1952 in Massena, NY a son of the late Ernest W. & Ethel (Brown) Brothers. He attended Canton and Massena schools for his education and enlisted in the US Army in 1970. A prior marriage ended in divorce, but found happiness again when he married Elissa L. Miller on April 20, 1991. He was employed at Losurdo Creamery in Heuvelton for 29 years as a supervisor, and then relocated to North Carolina where he worked as a machinist at Getrag Gears until becoming ill. He was a member of the Heuvelton Am-Vets and enjoyed camping, his two dogs Hassie & Oscar and spending time with his family.
