William G. Dennis

Mr. Dennis passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Dennis; his children, Tami Dennis and her husband, Lewis Snyder, of East Liberty, Ohio, Robert (Beth) Dennis of Odessa, Texas, Daniel Dennis of Urbana, Ohio, Melisa (Terry) Lowe of West Liberty, Ohio, Tina (Keith) Weibe of Baltimore, Maryland, and Doug Dennis of Ogdensburg. He is also survived by his brother, Grant (Susan) Dennis Jr. of Davenport, Florida; his sisters, Edna Aubuchon and her companion, Lane Formby, of Auburn, Alabama, and Deborah Dennis of Ogdensburg; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Born in Ogdensburg on October 4, 1945, Bill was the son of the late Grant Sr. and Barbara (Burns) Dennis. He graduated from Lisbon High School before proudly answering his country's call to service by enlisting in the United States Army in 1962.

Bill faithfully served his nation for 26 years, attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class before receiving an honorable discharge in 1988. Throughout his military career, he served as both a truck driver and mechanic, earning the respect of those who served alongside him through his dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic.

Following his retirement from the Army, Bill continued doing what he loved by working for Sears Tire in Watertown, Bill's Tire Center and Trimm's Trucking. Whether in uniform or on the job, he was known for his mechanical skill, willingness to help others, and unwavering commitment to hard work.

Outside of work, Bill enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing, boating, and spending time outdoors. He especially treasured gathering with friends and making lasting memories with his family, who meant the world to him. His quiet strength, generous spirit, and lifelong dedication to both his country and his loved ones will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
