Funeral services for William J. LeBeau, age 92 of Ogdensburg, will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday October 4, 2018 at Foxwood Memorial Park with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Calling hours will be held just prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00pm at the mausoleum. Mr. LeBeau passed away early Friday (Sept 21, 2018) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving are his children Tina Brien of Ogdensburg, Bruce LeBeau of Ogdesburg, Scott LeBeau & his companion Colleen of Pompano Beach, FL; two grandchildren Dustin & Jasmine Brien of Ogdensburg; a brother David LeBeau of Ogdensburg along with several nieces nephews & cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy LeBeau in 1996; two brothers Theodore “Butch” LeBeau and Harold “Skip” LeBeau and three sisters Norma Austin, Beverly Gebo and Pat King.
Bill was born on June 7, 1926 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of the late William & Bernadette (Robillard) LeBeau. He attended St. Mary’s Academy for his education, and enlisted in the US Navy during WWII. Following his discharge, he sailed on the Great Lakes and later married Dorothy G. Harper on Jan 6, 1963 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ogdensburg.
He worked as an Ogdensburg Fire Fighter from July 18, 1959 until he retired on May 7, 1987, dedicating 28 years of service to the department. He also continue to stay busy painting houses for many years. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, socializing with friends and loved his family.
