Private services for William J. Myre, age 95 of Ogdensburg will be held on Monday September 23, 2019 at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Entombment will follow at Foxwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Myre passed away Tuesday (Sept 17, 2019) at the Riverledge United Helpers Nursing Home.
Surviving are his three daughters Linda Weir of Prescott, Ontario, Susan Douglas of Las Vegas, NV and Sharon Myre of Vancouver, Washington; three brothers Lawrence Myre of Plattsburgh, NY, Gaetan Myre of Huntington, Quebec, and Andre Myre of Vancouver, British Columbia, four sisters Mariette Beauchamp of Valley Field, Quebec, Carmen Myre of Huntington, Quebec, Helene Robidoux of Lacolle, Quebec, Raymonde Perreault of Rouses Point, NY; 11 grandchildren Missy Millward, Shelley (Eugene) Fredericks, Andrew Douglas, Christopher Carmody, Michelle Adams, Renee Adams, Robert Adams Jr., Vicki Burley, Penny Burley, Shari McDaniels and Steve Fletcher; along with numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife Rita; a son Robert Adams; a daughter Sandra Fletcher; two brothers Daniel & Jean Claude Myre and two sisters Gisele Tremblay and Annette Patnode.
Bill was born on September 15, 1923 in Massena NY, a son of the late Ovila & Germaine (Gauthier) Myre. He attended Massena Schools and served in the US Army during WWII and married Rita L. Artibee in 1947.
During his career he was employed as a truck driver for Culligan, A.J. Misserts and Relco. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family.
