Surviving is her devoted husband, Peter Fifield and her two sons, Dylan Fifield of Camden, NY and Cody Fifield of Ogdensburg; her four brothers Yim Yong Sik, Yim Yong Kuk, Yim Yong Sang, and Yim Yong Kwan, and her sister Yim Yong Ik, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Yong was born on January 3, 1963, in Seoul Korea, a daughter of the late Yim Sung Kum and Lee Hung Kum. She graduated high school in Korea and continued her education, earning an associate degree as a Nurse’s Aide.
Yong met Peter in Korea while he was enlisted in the US Army. The couple later moved to the United States where they were united in marriage on October 21, 1989. Prior to starting their family, Yong worked as a waitress and later as a flower arranger at Farrand’s Flowers before dedicating herself fully to raising her family.
Yong was a devoted and loving wife and mother who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, majestic views of nature, picnics, bicycling, singing, playing guitar, walking along the beach, and cooking (especially Korean food). Most of all, Yong enjoyed spending time with those she loved the most. Her kindness, inner strength, warmth, and selfless nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
