In 64 years of marriage, Anne’s husband, Jack, never saw her in an argument. She was always smiling and gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. She raised her children with love and compassion and encouraged them to be the best they could be; always keeping Jesus Christ in their hearts. Her children remember her as always eager to help them in any endeavor. She was the model of Christ like servanthood.
Anne supported several charitable organizations and was an avid student of the Bible; one of her favorite verses is found in Mark 12:30-31.
Outside of raising her five boys, her favorite activities were golf, hunting and fishing. Anne didn’t take up these activities until her early twenties, but she was a tremendously fast learner and soon became proficient at all of them. She won the International Seniors Golf Tournament at Turnberry, Scotland, the Club Championship at LaQuinta, CA, and many other tournaments. Anne was just as good at hunting, taking the African record Sable antelope. She caught and released more bass over ten pounds than most fishermen could dream of.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Jack L. Clark; sons: Jack Clark, Jr., Jim Clark & wife Betsy, Ken Clark, Darrell Clark, and Shaun Clark & wife Ginger; 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Julie Dunning Wert & husband Bob; brother, John M. “Mac” Dunning & wife Shirley; and many other family members and friends.
We will greatly miss one of the classiest ladies of our time.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Santa Fe Presbyterian Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 8am to 9pm, Wednesday.
